Martin as a guests in various TV programs

As from yesterday, Monday 9th April, I started to attend as a guest with Lynn Faure, the presentor of E22 pm, discussing photography. The aim of these frequent interviews is to educate the general public and give important information on what is happening in the photographic industry.

This is not the first time that I was invited on such programs, in fact I was also a regular guest in another TV program called 'It-Tieg' presented by Frank Bonnici and broadcasted on Net TV.

Very recently I was also interviewed in another production on Net TV, this time on a cultural and educational program called 'Botttega'. Since this program is aimed to offer information about Maltese artists, I was invited since one of my specialities is Artistic Portrature.

Soon I will publish some videos from such programs to this blog.

Attending Orvieto Fotografia 2007

March 2007 was very busy for me. Apart from other local activities I do in Malta, I attended for the 6th year, the photographic convention in Orvieto, Italy. Orvieto Fotografia is in my calendar now, mostly to meet new friends and foreign photographers who I have befriended with them during my visits. It was also an occasion for me to collect the QIP Award Certificate. I won the QIP Award last year few days after the closing of the convention, so the organizer distribute the certificates in the following year. It is an honour for me to be the first foreign photographer winning this award. In the Picture I am seen with some fellow photographers. One can see my friends Armando Cersozimo, Pino Coduti, and Raf.

3 awards during the SWPP Convention in London

During the SWPP-BIPP photographic seminar in London, last January, I submitted 4 images in a Print competition. I participated with 2 images in the Portrait and another 2 images the wedding category. The international jugding awarded me 3 Honourable Mention awards, 2 in the Portrait and 1 in the Wedding category repectively. It was not the first award I achieved with the Profile Portrait of Demaris, make-up by Lorna and hair by Hair-o-scope, infact, I won second price and a silver medal in an international convention in Orvieto Italy, and Best Print Award in the SWPP-MIPP seminar in Malta last November.

Between the 4th-7th March, I had another stepping stone in my carreer as a photographer. In fact I was called to represent the FIOF, Federazione Internazionale Orvieto Fotografia, as one of the speakers in a photographic seminar in Marsala organized by the AFS. I was asked to do 2 seminars, 'Shooting an Artistic Portrait' and another one 'Marketing for the Photographer'. The photographers attending this seminar were very demanding, infact, the seminar continued even after dinner. The organizers already booked me for their next seminar carried out in Taormina next November.
